Born in 1966 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Graduated in 1989 in Graphic Design from the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA). In 2007, Janiz embarked on her career as a full time artist and has since participated in exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Paris, France. The female figure is Janiz Chan’s vehicle for expression, and through her paintings, she explores issues of femininity. She is one of the few prominent women artists in Malaysia. Janiz lives and works in Kuala Lumpur.
